GCR-30 Gas-Fired Water Heater, Piezo Ignited

Proline Atmospheric Vent Gas Water Heater

A. O. Smith's ProLine 401 Series gas water heaters deliver an economical performance suitable for large homes, restaurants and gyms compared to electrical heaters.

GCR-30 features a 30-gallon nominal capacity and a 32,000 BTU propane burner, delivering a first hour rating of 69 gallons and a recovery rate of 37 gallons per hour.

How It Works

LPG-fired water heaters heat by burning propane gas to heat water efficiently. These need a source of fresh air and need proper venting.

Cold water enters through a dip tube which forces the cold water to go to the bottom of the tank and pushes hot water out through the outlet connection.

This heater uses piezo ignition with an electronic gas valve. When cold water enters the heater, the temperature sensor signals the gas valve to open. Gas flows to the burner and is ignited by the pilot light. When the target temperature is reached, the gas valve shuts off.
