Basically, the water will be filtered first in the inline descaler before it goes through the water heater since the filter is to be used with municipally treated cold water only. It cannot be used with hot water as well as water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown water quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system. AOW-AS20 filter can last up to 2 years before it needs to be replaced, depending on usage. It also effectively reduces cyst and chlorine taste and odor.
